Our Story
The Ghana Environmental Advocacy Group (GEAG) was founded with a profound sense of urgency to address the growing environmental challenges facing our nation. Our journey began as a grassroots movement of concerned citizens, environmentalists, and professionals who shared a passion for protecting Ghana's natural resources.
Witnessing the devastating effects of illegal mining (galamsey), deforestation, pollution, and climate change on our landscapes and communities, we united to create a platform that amplifies environmental advocacy and action.
From our humble beginnings, GEAG has grown into a recognized force for environmental change โ collaborating with communities, policymakers, and international organizations to tackle pressing issues such as the destruction of water bodies, biodiversity loss, and improper waste management.
Our Mission โFighting illegal mining that poisons rivers and destroys aquatic ecosystems across Ghana.
Preserving Ghana's rich forest ecosystems and the species that call them home.
Advocating for proper waste infrastructure and community-led clean-up initiatives.
To protect Ghana's natural resources, promote eco-friendly practices, and inspire collective action toward environmental sustainability. We collaborate with local communities, governmental bodies, and international organizations to implement impactful programs that tackle deforestation, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
GEAG believes in empowering individuals and communities to become active stewards of the environment, ensuring a cleaner, healthier planet for future generations.
To see a thriving, sustainable Ghana where communities live in harmony with nature, protecting and preserving the environment for future generations. We envision a nation where environmental consciousness, conservation, and sustainable practices are integral to daily life.
We strive to build resilience against climate change while ensuring the well-being of all Ghanaians โ today and tomorrow.
